The Dodge Sprinter

The Dodge Sprinter—also called the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter—is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive tall van intended primarily for commercial or industrial duty. Furthermore, Dodge Sprinters were sold in the U.S. from 2001 to the 2009 models.

Original 'first-generation' versions included a 2.7-liter in-line five-cylinder engine, making 154 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque and connected to a five-speed automatic transmission.

The current 'second-generation' model was introduced for the 2007 model year, and had the same range of choices as the previous, first generation model.

Most versions of the Sprinter were powered by a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6, that contained 254 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Although there was also a 254-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 gas engine available. Both engines included a five-speed automatic and drove with more refinement and responsiveness than the previous models.
